Senepol Top Feedlot Performance

Several North West NSW Feedlot Managers and Owner/Operators have found out just how important docile Temperament and Heat Tolerance is in achieving profitable results in Feedlots during the Hot humid summers experienced on the Plains in NW NSW. Several Managers and Owners openly volunteered to us that their Senepol and Senepol Infused cattle are the best performing cattle on feed under these conditions. With Margins always wafer thin in the feedlot industry, selecting the right cattle for the right seasonal program can have a significant  influence on profitability.

Black coated cattle absorb 100% of the radiated heat transfer from the sun, and lack heat tolerance to cope. By crossing black cattle with Senepol you will lower their core body temperature, as it is a dominantly heritable trait, as well as trensferring a short, slick coat type. Red coated cattle absorb approx 40% of the same radiated heat, White coated cattle less again. So when temperament matters most to feed efficiency, heat tolerance must be a close second, as heat tolerant cattle aren't burning energy to keep cool. If you are considering some Slick, Cool, Calm Cattle for your breeding program don't hesitate to give us a call on 0429 83 2228.
